Visual Developer
About
I'm a senior visual developer currently serving as a consultant at Accenture. I'm passionate about data visualization as a communication method, and collaborating with clients to tell their stories by discovering new insights in their data.
Teaching
In support of those goals, I've also cultivated an interest in helping others to develop as leaders in the data viz field, through establishing and expanding communities of practice, leading workshop intensives, as well as ongoing courses on topics like: Data Visualization Best Practices, Using Data to Persuade Others, and Data Literacy. I've also taught others to use specialized tools, such as Tableau, R, Excel, and Python, for data visualization.
Talent Development
Through sharing knowledge, I connected with others who were keen to expand their expertise, and so began to grow my second passion: supporting others to become great analysts and data scientists. At both Accenture and in my prior role at UC Berkeley, I've collaborated within my cohort, helping to strengthen the next generation of thought leadership and ensuring that our clients are able to make data-driven decisions. With over fifteen years of experience in these fields, I'm very comfortable in describing what I bring to the table. However, it wasn't always that way. If you're a new analyst, or if you feel as though you don't know where to go next in your career, you may be interested to learn a bit more about my career journey, and how I got to where I am now.
